Album description:Positively Mental is the third release by Triple Crossed, recorded by Andy Mathison at Immortal Audio Studios. It is the band’s second EP, following 2012’s Raised on Ice.The title Positively Mental is a twist on the Bad Brains’ ideology of Positive Mental Attitude adapted from Napoleon Hill’sThink and Grow Rich. The single “Forced to Consent” was issued as a fundraiser for Project Consent, a nonprofit campaign that educates on issues of consent in an effort to end rape culture.

Band bio: No Skin is a hardcore punk band from Minneapolis, MN featuring members of In Defence,Triple Crossed, and Deterioration. Initially conceptualized as “Negative Approach-meets-The Ramones,”the band gradually morphed into a more punishing brand of fast and abrasive hardcore,playing short, intense sets at shows and festivals across the U.S. and into Mexico.

Paying the Fine was self-released before being pressed for a limited run by Give Praise Records. Musically, No Skin hammers between complex song structures (“Nervous Tension”) and raw, three-chord basement hardcore (“Dead Alive”). Lyrically, they take aim at both right-wing culture (“White Elephants”) and blind reactionaries (“Knee Jerk Circle”) among introspective songs of frustration and anxiety (“Total Aggravation,” “Neck Deep”). The record was recorded on New Year’s Day of 2017 at the Triple Rock Social Club (owned by Dillinger 4 guitar player Erik Funk) in Minneapolis, MN
